1. What are Theft Alerts?

  • Real-time alerts are triggered when your identity information is detected in a breach, fraud attempt, or suspicious use.

  • Alerts are delivered via:

    • Push notifications (mobile app)

    • Email alerts

    • Portal dashboard notifications

2. Examples of Alerts

  • “Your email address was found in a dark web database.”

  • “A new credit account was opened using your SSN.”

  • “Your phone number is linked to a SIM swap attempt.”

3. Managing Alerts

  • In Settings → Notifications, choose delivery method (app/email/both).

  • Mark alerts as Reviewed after taking action.

  • Archive old alerts for recordkeeping.

4. What to Do If You Get an Alert

  • Step 1: Review alert details in CreditVana.

  • Step 2: Confirm if the activity was yours.

  • Step 3: If not, immediately take protective action (freeze credit, change passwords, contact financial institutions).
